Gainsbury have successfully completed a number of such projects.  The benefits to the client are usually  an earlier start (and thus an earlier completion) and an overall saving in cost.  However, Construction Management is not always appropriate for each project or for all Clients since the balance of risk rests more towards the Client than with a main contractor.  Nevertheless, the rewards , which are derived from this procurement route, are always worth considering if an appropriately experienced team is in place.

During the past ten years, F.R. Gainsbury

have been involved in a number of projects where appropriate representation to HM Customs and Excise has secured significant recovery of VAT for Clients.  During this period a sum of over £2 million has been recovered for Clients. More often than not the projects have involved Listed Buildings where the VAT law is complex.  However the successful recovery of VAT has also been achieved on contracts associated with churches, charitable buildings and private residences.

For a number of years, F.R. Gainsbury has been responsible for managing the insurance requirements of a number of high-value property portfolios. In addition to preparing estimates of current rebuilding costs for insurance requirements, the Practice has a wide range of experience in preparing and agreeing claims following insurance losses.  

Professional advice relating to the insurance requirements of specific construction projects can be provided thus ensuring that the appropriate works and project insurances are in place at the relevant stage of the programme.

Over the years F.R. Gainsbury has developed a close working relationship with a number of the country's largest insurance brokers and the practice is able to advise on most aspects of insurance related to property and the construction industry.
